🌷 Estrogen dominance is one of the most common hor 🌷 Estrogen dominance is one of the most common hormone patterns I see in women struggling with low energy, PMS, stubborn weight gain, and feeling like they’re no longer themselves.

The surprising part?

❌ It does not always mean your estrogen is high.
✅ It can mean estrogen is high relative to progesterone.
✅ It can mean estrogen is not being cleared efficiently through the liver and digestive system.
✅ It can mean estrogen is being metabolized down pathways that are more inflammatory and proliferative than protective.

Any one of these situations can create an estrogen dominance picture.

And this is why so many women get frustrated.

They focus on lowering estrogen when the real issue might be stress, sluggish detoxification, gut imbalances, or the way estrogen is being metabolized.

🔍 Same symptoms. Different root causes.

This is why guessing rarely works.

The woman whose estrogen dominance is driven by chronic stress needs a different approach than the woman whose primary issue is poor estrogen clearance through the liver. And both need something different than the woman whose gut health is contributing to hormone recirculation.

💡 The key is understanding why estrogen dominance is happening in your body.

Because when you address the driver, symptoms like fatigue, PMS, mood swings, heavy periods, breast tenderness, bloating, and weight loss resistance often begin to make much more sense.

💬 Which of these drivers feels most relevant to your story: stress, liver, gut, or environmental exposures?

🌸 Your menstrual cycle is so much more than your p 🌸 Your menstrual cycle is so much more than your period.

It’s a carefully orchestrated, hormone-driven sequence with four distinct phases. Each phase influences your energy, mood, appetite, focus, sleep, and symptoms.

When you understand what your hormones are doing throughout the month, you can stop fighting your body and start working with it.

🌷 Menstrual Phase (approximately days 1-5)
Estrogen and progesterone are at their lowest levels. Your body sheds the uterine lining, and prostaglandins help trigger contractions that can cause cramping.

This is a time when lower energy is completely normal. Your body is working hard behind the scenes. Nutrient losses occur, especially iron, and many women naturally benefit from more rest, nourishment, and recovery during this phase.

🌱 Follicular Phase (approximately days 1-13, overlapping with menstruation)
As estrogen begins to rise, many women notice improvements in mood, motivation, mental clarity, and energy.

Estrogen enhances insulin sensitivity, supports dopamine activity, and often creates that feeling of being more productive, social, and focused.

This is frequently the phase when women feel most like themselves.

☀️ Ovulatory Phase (around day 14 in a 28-day cycle, though timing varies)
Estrogen reaches its peak and ovulation occurs. Testosterone also rises slightly.

This is often the phase of highest energy, confidence, verbal fluency, libido, and social connection. Many women feel more outgoing and energized during this time.

🌙 Luteal Phase (approximately days 15-28)
After ovulation, progesterone rises to prepare the body for a possible pregnancy.

Progesterone has a naturally calming effect, but it can also increase appetite and reduce insulin sensitivity. As progesterone and estrogen begin to decline toward the end of this phase, PMS symptoms may appear.

Those final days before your period can tell us a lot about how well your hormones are functioning throughout the month.

✨ Your cycle is not your enemy.
It is one of the most valuable sources of information about your health, energy, and hormone balance.

💬 Which phase is hardest for you?
